Jason Becton
Jason Becton moved to Charlottesville with his husband Patrick and daughters Marian & Betty nine years ago from New Jersey. He started MarieBette Café & Bakery in 2014 and Petite MarieBette in 2019. Jason’s first career out of college was in advertising where he worked as an art director for nine years creating branding for clients such as IBM, Verizon Wireless and Deloitte. Frustrated with corporate life, Jason decided he wanted to work for himself and be an entrepreneur. He went to culinary school at the French Culinary Institute and left his job as an art director for a job at the Four Seasons Hotel New York to gain culinary experience. After seven years at the Four Seasons, he moved to Charlottesville to start his own business. Since living in Charlottesville, Jason has served on the board of Meals on Wheels Charlottesville/Albemarle (in his last year as board president), Twice is Nice and Victory Hall Opera. Jason and his family live in North Garden in Albemarle county.
