Juandiego Wade
Juandiego Wade is the Career Center Coordinator with Albemarle County Department of Social Services. He has a deep passion for mentoring youth in the greater Charlottesville community and has been a mentor to many youth over the past 30 years. He has been on the Charlottesville School Board since election in 2006 and has served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Board. He is also the past President of the Virginia School Boards Association. Juandiego is involved in a diverse set of community non-profit organizations including the United Way of Greater Charlottesville, for which he will serve as chair starting 2020. He also holds 10 other local board connections including to City Schoolyard Garden, 100 Black Men of Central Virginia, JAUNT, and CNE. Juandiego has won numerous awards; most recently the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce Paul Goodloe McIntire Citizenship Award- 2019. Juan Diego has been married to Claudette Grant since 1993. They met in grad school at UVA and have a lovely daughter who will be graduating from CHS in 2020. His passion for CIC stems from an integral belief in volunteerism and education. He is happy to be on the front line in educating future and present business owners about owning a business and to be part of this high performing organization.
