February 7, 2019

Hunter is originally from the Charlottesville area.  He attended The University of Virginia where he earned his BA in Economics. Hunter played baseball for UVA and later played for the Florida Marlins. After his professional baseball career, he began working with State Farm as an insurance agent. He started in a  leadership position with State Farm in North Carolina. After some time, he was given the opportunity to come back to Charlottesville with State farm in May of 2009. He now has a consulting practice, as well as offering commercial/residential real estate with State Farm. Hunter now lives in Whitehawk with his wife, Kristina, and his kids, Halley and Addison. They enjoy traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Hunter has volunteered with CIC by participating in many Resource Fairs that CIC has hosted for new entrepreneurs.  He enjoys doing this, having started businesses in several industries and fully understands the challenges that entrepreneurs face. He tries to help entrepreneurs save money from avoidable mistakes, as he uses his own personal experiences to give advice. Any bit of advice to a starting entrepreneur can help them avoid huge mistakes that have significant costs.

Hunter feels that small business is the foundation of our community in Charlottesville.  It is nice to help others in a way that will impact and do well for the community as a whole.  He feels it is also great to help welcome new people to the community and let them know about other businesses in the areaConnections like this can be crucial in helping an entrepreneur succeed.

Thank you for your time and support, Hunter!
